Hi! I’m Lindsay, welcome to Just a Taste Moore. This blog has been brewing in my mind for quite some time, and I’m finally committing to making it a reality. I like to think of this as a melting pot for my love of cooking, self-care and journey to living the best life for myself and my family.

Cooking has always been both a hobby and a way to relieve stress. No matter what time of day, I love getting messy with ingredients and trying new ideas. I enjoy focusing on individual flavor profiles, testing which ingredients bring out the best flavors when put together. I also focus on using ingredients that support health and longevity. Let’s also not forget the occasional “why not” meal when I break the rules a little and make something that wouldn’t necessarily classify as “healthy”. I, for one, like to have my cake and eat it too.

I approach all that I do focused on a few fundamentals, that of which I hope translate through to the recipes on this blog and the ingredients of choice:

  1. Balance – This seems to be somewhat of a buzzword these days, but it’s something so important to me. Whether it be associated with family and friends, work, personal focuses, without balance you’re never going to be your best self. The same goes for nutrition and life choices. Diets are fads and will never stick. It’s so important to focus on lifestyle changes and making the right choices. Those choices become habits and soon are just the way of life, no thought required.
  2. Intention – I believe in having a purpose behind everything you do, no matter how great or small the task. The same goes for my food. Creating recipes with thought and intention will always turn out better than those that are thrown together on a whim…well, generally speaking.
  3. Wellness – Being mindful of choices that result in a healthy, happy lifestyle is really what it’s all about. It’s finding that balance (see above) that brings you the perfect life mix of physical and mental wellbeing.

Throughout Just a Taste Moore, you’ll discover a little bit of everything. I’ll of course share recipe ideation, but some posts focused on my personal journey in life will also be sprinkled in. My husband, son and our pups will most definitely have cameo appearances from time to time. Recipes will be easy to recreate and provide the opportunity for customization. I’m inspired by so many fellow bloggers and food enthusiasts, I encourage you to take what you find and feel inspired to alter recipes for your liking.
